STUDIO PRACTICES grade:
This is taken EACH week

Each student has the opportunity to earn up to 3 points for Studio Practices (SP) per day. If he/she chooses not to work or clean up, points will be lost on a daily basis. SP are divided equally into the categories of ATTITUDE, PROPER TECHNOLOGY USAGE, and ROOM MAINTENANCE.

  • “Attitude” implies that the student is cooperative, willing to work on given projects, and gladly volunteers to help the teacher and other students with materials and clean up. Students are expected to be in their seats, ready for class when the bell rings. Students will lose points per grading period if they do not complete daily assignments, major projects, or continuously talk when the teacher is addressing the class. If the teacher needs to address a student's behavior more than once, all participation points will be lost for the grading period. (0-3 points)

  • “Proper Technology Usage” means the student is not watching videos or has any electronic device out (including phones) whenever the teacher is talking, or if specifically stated. If a student violates this more than once, the device will confiscated and participation points for the day lost. Playing games on electronic devices or doing homework from other classes during demonstration or studio time is unacceptable. (0-3 points)

  • “Room Maintenance” is responsibility with materials and clean up. EVERY student is responsible for his or her group table, as well as whatever workstation in the room was used (for example: putting drawing pencils away, cleaning the painting area) EACH DAY. Tables are left clean and free of materials and tools used throughout the class. Each student is expected to do what is assigned and asked of him or her. (0-3 points)
