Art Books/ Creative Challenges
for both drawing one and drawing two, you will be making an art book. these art books must be at least 9X12 and will hold all of our class materials (handouts, skill building, creative challenges). You will be given directions on how to assemble your art book, and you will then decorate the cover. make it your own!
Covers:
Drawing One- Separate your cover into different sections using stencils. Come up with 10 different types of line and 5 doodles that describe you and/or your interests.
Drawing TWO- Create a drawing that expands to both the front and back cover of your art book. This doodle/design should incorporate skills you acquired in Drawing One and show your personality.
Write CC number, idea number or brief description, and date on the table you glued into your art book. CC's will be checked along with art books at the conclusion of each unit. You should have at least 1 CC per unit.
The purpose of a sketchbook is to strengthen your drawing skills, encourage you to look harder at things, use your imagination, explore techniques that interest you, and challenge you.
the weekend is a good time to get caught up and explore interesting mediums.
In addition to the unit creative challenges, you are encouraged to fill this space with your own work and drawings of your choice. Use your sketchbook as a place to let out your ideas and thoughts.
Each creative challenge should take at least 30 to 45 minutes and must be done on your own time, unless you are finished with your project. creative challenges are worth 10 points each.
You will receive up to 10 points for drawings that meet the following expectations:

Drawing must fill the entire page.

Drawing must have full color or shading.

you may choose a creative challenge only once- no duplicate topics.

Must be original… no copies or tracing.

Use drawing pencils intended for sketching.

Set the scene, include a background.
-
Spend at least 30 minutes on each page.

don’t rely on your eraser, sketches should be “sketchy”.

experience a wide variety of materials – pencil, pen, collage, paint…
Consider using your sketchbook as an extension of your personality as well as continuing to improve your artistic skills.
